The paper summarizes the findings of a research project carried out to investigate the tutoring and mentoring efficiencies in developing scientific and technological literacy, humanizing behaviours and visions for community concern. In this case older primary pupils mentored younger primary grade pupils in a context applicable to their personal and community quality of life, with a focus on the topic 'Water is Life'.
The major finding was that the tutoring-mentoring approach is very effective in encouraging scientific and technological literacy, humanizing behaviours and visions for community concern of both tutor-mentors and tutee-mentees, and in turn is applicable to the tutee-menteeÕs personal and community quality of life in a real life situation.
