The Learning Assistance Programme (LAP) provides individual support for students through positive parent and community participation in schools. It offers parents, grandparents, senior students and other community members the opportunity to work in partnership with teachers, to assist students to become successful learners and to build confidence and self-esteem. LAP harnessed the untapped care and commitment of volunteers to become mentors for students and to strengthen the school community. LAP is now established in more than 1000 Australian and international schools.
