The paper focuses on the setting up, monitoring and evaluating a cross-age tutoring programme in which senior secondary students tutor and mentor junior secondary students. The tutoring ïmatchÍ maybe based on academic, social or behavioural needs.

 

 



 


About the Author

Julie Evans has been teaching in Sydney schools for 27 years. The last 11 have been at Knox Grammar, working with special needs students. She has established an intensive reading programme in the junior secondary years and coordinates a group of parents who support the programme and work in the classroom with students. Julie also coordinates and supervises the cross-age tutoring programme at her school.
